May 17 -18 –“Loving the Land Through Working Forests” Conference, with Wendell Berry Renowned author and environmentalist Wendell Berry speaks 7:00 pm on Fri 5/17, Ford Chapel at Allegheny College. Free and open to the public. Conference will continue on Saturday, May 18 with in-the-field sessions at a site north of Titusville off Route 8. Although conference events are free, pre-registration is requested for the Saturday in-the-field sessions. Event page link “We are looking for individuals and groups to join together for the first ever Global Day of Action Against Incarcerating Youth (Sunday, May 19)! Buffalo’s Day of Action will start at Burning Books bookstore (420 Connecticut St.) with a screening of the 30 minute film “The Jena 6.” Afterwards, if the weather is nice, we’ll stroll a couple blocks over to the newly established Normal Ave Community Garden (corner of Vermont St. and Normal Ave.) for a community speak-out.
